An
efficient home is inherently air-tight, utilizing a ventilation
system to maintain indoor air quality. To achieve this,
ducts are sealed to reduce drafts, moisture, pollen, pests
and noise. The Elements extensive sealing results in less
than 4% air loss.
Home comfort and efficiency also depends on the installation
of proper heating and cooling equipment. HVAC systems for
the condominiums and townes are energy efficient with a
SEER rating of 13. Systems are properly sized and installed
resulting in even temperatures throughout each home.
The Elements homes use compact fluorescent lighting (CFLs)
throughout. CFLs use 75% less energy than standard incandescent
bulbs and last 10 times longer.
Both the condominiums and the townes are equipped with Energy
Star appliances, including dishwashers and refrigerators.
